Kristopher Russell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kristopher Russell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dan Ruth having to interfere. Mint Hill's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Alfonso Riggs 13 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. 18 minutes into the game, Terence Heath was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mint Hill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Camanche the free kick. The supporters of Camanche booed when Mint Hill was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terence Heath didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Camanche's Waldo Connelly tried to score from far away in the 19th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Alfonso Riggs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 26th minute of the match Camanche got a corner. Mint Hill's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Waldo Connelly ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Rick Lawson came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Mint Hill fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rick Lawson couldn't finish the play. J.C. Vinson kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Dan Ruth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Riggs in the 40th minute of play. Mint Hill's Dan Ruth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Riggs in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Camanche's goalkeeper Filiberto Pollock, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Rick Lawson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfonso Riggs to make the kick off. In the 55th minute of the match J.C. Vinson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dan Ruth skillfully saved the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfonso Riggs in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dan Ruth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mint Hill's Dan Ruth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kristopher Russell in the 62nd minute of play. 67 minutes into the game, Roosevelt Lugo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 84th minute, Patrick Russ hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Kristopher Russell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Camanche's Kristopher Russell in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mint Hill's goalie prevented a goal.
