Albert Reese charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albert Reese the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Ray Harper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

If Grant Vaughan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 60 played minutes Detroit FC got a freekick which was hit by Albert Reese. Ignacio Addison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mel Larkin, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. If Grant Vaughan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Grant Vaughan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Detroit FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Grant Vaughan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ignacio Addison breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ray Harper kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Detroit FC's Grant Vaughan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ignacio Addison made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. Ray Harper sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gilbert's Adrian Grace in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When the match was over Detroit FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gilbert throughout the match.
