Spectators: 7524 (Terracing: 5644, Seating: 1730, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jose Whittaker took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Detroit FC's Vince Vaughn got a free kick in the 2nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Detroit FC's zone, Jordan Marcus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lewis Solomon came out of the goal and Jordan Marcus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Pontotoc's Jose Whittaker in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Detroit FC's goalie prevented a goal. Jordan Marcus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lewis Solomon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. In the 7thth minute of the game Jose Whittaker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Detroit FC's Lewis Solomon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lewis Solomon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Mayfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lewis Solomon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jordan Marcus, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Errol Carlton was out of position in the 21 minute of play, and Mel Larkin capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mel Larkin really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 25th minute, Detroit FC's Mel Larkin dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 29th minute of the match Detroit FC got a corner. Pontotoc's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jeremiah Zapata ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a little luck, Pontotoc's Errol Carlton got control of the ball when Grant Vaughan tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 32ndth minute of the game Jordan Marcus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Detroit FC's Lewis Solomon was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Len Meyers charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Len Meyers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 33 played minutes Detroit FC got a freekick which was hit by Len Meyers. Lewis Solomon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Mayfield in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Landon Middleton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lewis Solomon was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Jose Whittaker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pontotoc's supporters rose to their feet, but Jose Whittaker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lewis Solomon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jose Whittaker blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lewis Solomon having to make a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Mel Larkin made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jordan Marcus got free with Lewis Solomon in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jordan Marcus took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lewis Solomon. Lewis Solomon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 62nd minute, Jordan Marcus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brent Sierra kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the game, Grant Vaughan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Errol Carlton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lewis Solomon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jose Whittaker in the 72nd minute. Errol Carlton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mel Larkin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the game, Detroit FC's Mel Larkin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Errol Carlton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Lewis Solomon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Whittaker in the 80th minute of the match. After 83 played minutes, Pontotoc's Jose Whittaker shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lewis Solomon came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pontotoc reached it. Landon Middletons short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Lewis Solomon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 87 minutes into the match, Pontotoc's goal looked a bit too open when Mel Larkin came free, but Errol Carlton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jose Whittaker got free with Lewis Solomon in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Errol Carlton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mel Larkin in the 89th minute of play. Pontotoc's Armando Mayfield got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Landon Middleton struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Lewis Solomon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pontotoc. Many of Pontotoc's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Pontotoc may have spent more time on the ball, but Detroit FC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
