Rico Looney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Freddy Croft hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Lima's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Bergstrom came free, but Rickey Robles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, German Kincaid managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lima's supporters rose to their feet, but German Kincaid was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmed Vann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 27th minute Tomasz Cholewa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rickey Robles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Freddy Croft hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Tomasz Cholewa came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Discovery Bay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomasz Cholewa couldn't finish the play. Tomasz Cholewa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rickey Robles having to make a save. If Rico Looney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomasz Cholewa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Robles having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomasz Cholewa to make the kick off. Rico Looney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Rickey Robles made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Discovery Bay's Richard Bergstrom slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rickey Robles. That made the score 0-1 after 54 minutes of play. Rico Looney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Robles having to interfere. Tomasz Cholewa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th match minute, Lima was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Croft to maneuver through the defense. Rickey Robles was a little too slow when Tomasz Cholewa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 75th minute. The score was now 0-2. Tomasz Cholewa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Rickey Robles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 82 minutes, Rico Looney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Discovery Bay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rico Looney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomasz Cholewa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Rickey Robles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gilbert Przewozik hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Tomasz Cholewa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rickey Robles having to interfere. The Lima fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Discovery Bay were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
