A sloppy throw-in by Arthur Schaefer in the 87th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Discovery Bay's Mckinley Guy. After having played for 88 minutes, Tomasz Cholewa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Discovery Bay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomasz Cholewa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rico Looney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Valdese getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Sung Shipley hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Discovery Bay were the better team. Discovery Bay's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
