After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Theodore Marin managed to get in a good position for a shot. MRFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Theodore Marin was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Devon Joyner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Day Heights FC defense, Jeramy Harmon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Devon Joyner. The Day Heights FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Devon Joyner should have stopped the shot. Theodore Marin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Devon Joyner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, MRFC's Theodore Marin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Devon Joyner made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Aurelio Sargent fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Day Heights FC's protests and gave Aurelio Sargent a yellow card for diving instead. The MRFC fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when MRFC's Jeramy Harmon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jeramy Harmon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Joyner having to interfere. Murray Ferrell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Devon Joyner tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jeramy Harmon was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelio Sargent in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dwight Roberson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 54 minutes into the game, Blair Osborne was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Day Heights FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MRFC the free kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeramy Harmon got free with Devon Joyner in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Daniel Alvarez fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. In the 84th minute Ben Person shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dwight Roberson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 85 minutes into the game, Ronald Powers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Day Heights FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave MRFC the free kick. The supporters of Day Heights FC booed when MRFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Huffman didn't get a good kick on the ball. MRFC played a much better game than Day Heights FC and deserved their victory. The Day Heights FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
