Spectators: 6714 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Hans Brewster made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of Real Salt Lake☆★ booed when Hayti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnoldo McMullen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sergio Bassett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodger Simons having to interfere. When Dwayne Honeycutt came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Real Salt Lake☆★ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dwayne Honeycutt couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Hayti defense, Sergio Bassett kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rodger Simons. The Hayti fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rodger Simons should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute Sergio Bassett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodger Simons saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Aureliusz Sienkowski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Hayti's Alfred Shirley got a free kick in the 25th minute. Sergio Bassett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Sergio Bassett managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Salt Lake☆★'s supporters rose to their feet, but Sergio Bassett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodger Simons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 minutes of play, Real Salt Lake☆★'s Jackson Zuniga made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodger Simons was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodger Simons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Bassett in the 47th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sergio Bassett to make the kick off. Sergio Bassett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jackson Zuniga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayti's Rodger Simons played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jackson Zuniga in the 61st minute of play. If Sergio Bassett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hans Brewster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Reinaldo Gleason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sergio Bassett recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sergio Bassett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Hayti's zone, Jackson Zuniga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodger Simons came out of the goal and Jackson Zuniga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rodger Simons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sergio Bassett, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aureliusz Sienkowski got free with Rodger Simons in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 82 minutes into the match, Aureliusz Sienkowski had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodger Simons. Hayti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aureliusz Sienkowski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6. Sergio Bassett might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodger Simons. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sergio Bassett ran back to his position shaking his head. Rodger Simons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pat Burnham, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. 91 minutes into the match, Real Salt Lake☆★'s Sergio Bassett sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodger Simons narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Real Salt Lake☆★'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
