In the 20th minute of the match, Kerry Ackerman tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jason MacDonald saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Kerry Ackerman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joseph Hooper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without DeAngelo Albrecht having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Murray Purvis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wickliffe AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murray Purvis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roscoe Singer struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Jason MacDonald didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wickliffe AFC. Cloverleaf's Jason MacDonald played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Ackerman in the 40th minute of play. Fred Chen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. DeAngelo Albrecht took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Chen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, Roscoe Singer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joseph Hooper was the one to do the kick off. Wilfredo Stratton tried in the game's 52nd match minute to clear up in front of his own goal but it went so bad that he put the ball into the goal to the left of an unhappy DeAngelo Albrecht. An annoying self made goal, 0-1. In the 55th minute, Joseph Hooper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes Wickliffe AFC got a freekick which was hit by Wilfredo Stratton. If Joseph Hooper had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Wickliffe AFC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Garth Echols hit a great ball. In the 68th minute of the match, Joseph Hooper tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but DeAngelo Albrecht saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. He walked away shaking his head. 77 minutes into the game, Joseph Hooper cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. DeAngelo Albrecht was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roscoe Singer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jason MacDonald read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Murray Purvis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason MacDonald having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Kerry Ackerman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
