Seating: 1698, VIP seats: 147) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Douglas Frost got the match started through his kick off. After some careless play in the San José State University defense, Darrell Melendez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tobias Hays. The San José State University fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tobias Hays should have stopped the shot. Rolf Morgan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Douglas Frost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Korey Bain sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Douglas Frost had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rolf Morgan. West Haven's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Douglas Frost was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Paige in the 21st minute of play forced San José State University's goalkeeper Tobias Hays to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Douglas Frost had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The crowd rose to their feet as San José State University's Douglas Frost slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolf Morgan. That made the score 2-1 after 28 minutes of play. San José State University's Calvin Maddox got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice moves Douglas Frost could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Rolf Morgan however easily saved by the left post. Douglas Frost blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolf Morgan having to make a save. Darrell Melendez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tobias Hays read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 48th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
Calvin Maddox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolf Morgan having to interfere. In the 55th match minute, West Haven was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edward Lake to maneuver through the defense. Douglas Frost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to West Haven getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Austin Paige hit a great ball. 63 minutes into the game, San José State University's Douglas Frost nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolf Morgan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Rolf Morgan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Douglas Frost, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Rolf Morgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Frost's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. If Darrell Melendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When San José State University's Douglas Frost in the 74th minute got a chance for a shot 74th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye West Haven's goalie prevented a goal. When Douglas Frost came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the San José State University fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Douglas Frost couldn't finish the play. San José State University's Korey Bain got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rolf Morgan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Douglas Frost's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Douglas Frost received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Rolf Morgan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Douglas Frost struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Rolf Morgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for San José State University. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Paige in the 97th minute of play forced San José State University's goalkeeper Tobias Hays to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. San José State University fully deserved thier win.
