The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stephan Schmidt during the 3rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sammy Souza in the 19th minute of play forced Bonners Ferry's goalkeeper Walker Copeland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bonners Ferry! In the 22nd minute there was a penalty for White City. Edward Wilkes stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Walker Copeland. 0-1. Marty Blount received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Monte Vann came out and tried to block the shot, but Marty Blount slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. Bonners Ferry's Marty Blount got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bonners Ferry's Dante Robles got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to White City getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Elias Dodge hit a great ball. Marty Blount fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monte Vann having to interfere. Marty Blount struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Monte Vann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bonners Ferry. 41 minutes into the match, Dante Robles notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of White City's Monte Vann. Monte Vann was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirby Gann in the 45th minute of play forced Bonners Ferry's goalkeeper Walker Copeland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walker Copeland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kirby Gann in the 47th minute of play. Jarrett Durham kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marty Blount to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Marty Blount shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Monte Vann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Guy Spears was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. White City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bonners Ferry the free kick. In the 71st minute, Guy Spears hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bonners Ferry's Marty Blount in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When Sammy Souza came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the White City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sammy Souza couldn't finish the play. If Sammy Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the game, Shaun Gleason was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bonners Ferry's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave White City the free kick. The supporters of White City booed when Bonners Ferry was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Shaun Gleason didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walker Copeland was out of position in the 98 minute of play, and Rusty Frederick capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rusty Frederick really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Bonners Ferry fans cheered their team off the field, for while White City had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
