South Jordan AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brackenridge AFC the free kick. After a rather tough play, South Jordan AFC's Adrian Gabriel got a free kick in the 10th minute. After 19 minutes, Sid Benton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brackenridge AFC and the South Jordan AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Brackenridge AFC! If Keith Gardner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dwayne Freeman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keith Gardner in the 25th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, South Jordan AFC's Keith Gardner dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After having played for 36 minutes, Keith Gardner managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. South Jordan AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keith Gardner was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Kirk Holliday had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, Brackenridge AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Kirk Holliday came free, but Dwayne Freeman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When South Jordan AFC's Kirk Holliday in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Dwayne Freeman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kirk Holliday, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There was no doubt that South Jordan AFC were the better team. South Jordan AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
