Seating: 1710, VIP seats: 0) 9 minutes into the game, Stefan Dickens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ozona's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LHS SOCCER the free kick. In the 14th minute, Casper Skaggs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Johnny Dyer came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by LHS SOCCER's Salvador Russo. But to his dismay, Salvador Russo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to LHS SOCCER getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Riley Shoemaker hit a great ball. Alan Holt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Graig Avery firmly grabbed it by the left post. LHS SOCCER's Mike Cahill got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Salvador Russo hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 22nd minute, LHS SOCCER's Salvador Russo fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Johnny Dyer was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Ray Larson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 27 minutes into the match, Ozona's goal looked a bit too open when Riley Shoemaker came free, but Johnny Dyer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnny Dyer didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ray Larson went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. After having played for 39 minutes, Ben Cornett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LHS SOCCER's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ben Cornett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The LHS SOCCER fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when LHS SOCCER's Salvador Russo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After the first half LHS SOCCER were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ben Cornett to strike the kick off in the second half. Riley Shoemaker hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd match minute, LHS SOCCER was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Mobley to maneuver through the defense. When Riley Shoemaker came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the LHS SOCCER fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Riley Shoemaker couldn't finish the play. Ray Larson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Johnny Dyer came out and tried to block the shot, but Ray Larson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 57th minute. Bennett Yoshioka charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bennett Yoshioka the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Ozona's Bennett Yoshioka got a free kick in the 62nd minute. With his leg Johnny Dyer managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when LHS SOCCER's Ben Cornett fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 66 played minutes Ozona got a freekick which was hit by Jermaine Haywood. After 67 played minutes, LHS SOCCER's Ben Cornett shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Johnny Dyer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in LHS SOCCER reached it. The supporters of Ozona booed when LHS SOCCER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mike Cahill didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Bennett Yoshioka sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Graig Avery skillfully saved the ball. If Ray Larson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Riley Shoemaker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Dyer having to interfere. Von Thomason hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Salvador Russo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. In the 80th match minute, Ozona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephen Cisneros to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as LHS SOCCER's Ben Cornett slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Johnny Dyer. That made the score 0-7 after 85 minutes of play. In the 88th minute, Ray Larson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LHS SOCCER fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. Rolando Mobley took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 93rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Johnny Dyer. Ozona's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ray Larson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Johnny Dyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Johnny Dyer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Cahill in the 96th minute of play. LHS SOCCER's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
