Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Eliseo Looney took the kick off in the first half of the match. The supporters of Detroit Lakes FC booed when Piney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nolan Dozier didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anton Stringer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Looney, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. 12 minutes into the match, Detroit Lakes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vaughn Clancy came free, but Alfred Lehman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nolan Dozier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Alfred Lehman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Detroit Lakes FC's Kurtis Craig got a free kick in the 18th minute. Dirk Kerns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfred Lehman having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Detroit Lakes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dirk Kerns came free, but Alfred Lehman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Detroit Lakes FC's Kurtis Craig got a free kick in the 30th minute. A hard shot by Tod Hardin from long distance, 33 minutes into the match, got Anton Stringer's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 33rd match minute, Piney was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nolan Dozier to maneuver through the defense. Piney's Anton Stringer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Piney from getting a goal against them. Anton Stringer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Looney, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Yong Pena sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Anton Stringer threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Yong Pena this time. 41 minutes into the match, Piney's Dirk Kerns sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Alfred Lehman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dirk Kerns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Alfred Lehman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfred Lehman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dirk Kerns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vaughn Clancy to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Dirk Kerns managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Piney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dirk Kerns was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anton Stringer came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Detroit Lakes FC's Eliseo Looney. But to his dismay, Eliseo Looney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Vaughn Clancy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Detroit Lakes FC's goalkeeper Alfred Lehman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dirk Kerns. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Detroit Lakes FC's goalkeeper Alfred Lehman, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 68th minute of the match Tod Hardin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Anton Stringer skillfully saved the ball. Piney's Nolan Dozier managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Joesph Stokes in the 74 minute of the game. Alfred Lehman made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Nolan Dozier sent off a good shot on target. If Dirk Kerns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77thth minute of the game Dirk Kerns who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Detroit Lakes FC's Alfred Lehman was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alfred Lehman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dirk Kerns in the 79th minute of play. Vaughn Clancy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dirk Kerns came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Piney fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dirk Kerns couldn't finish the play. Anton Stringer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Looney in the 92nd minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Detroit Lakes FC's Eliseo Looney nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Anton Stringer made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The Detroit Lakes FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
