Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Great Bend's Whitney Brady started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Great Bend's Roderick Duran nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Devon Romo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Whitney Brady received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Devon Romo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Great Bend's Roderick Duran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Devon Romo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Roderick Duran fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Devon Romo was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Whitney Brady capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Whitney Brady really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 24th minute Whitney Brady shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devon Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Roderick Duran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Romo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rocky Guy during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Rocky Guy hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute of the match, Roderick Duran got a very nice opportunity to score, but Devon Romo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Roderick Duran's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Devon Romo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Devon Romo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Whitney Brady, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Flint Sargent was the one to do the kick off. Kirk Sanchez kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Eddy Alonzo made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Jonathon Frost sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Whitney Brady's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Devon Romo was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 62nd minute Whitney Brady shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devon Romo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Flint Sargent sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 68 minutes into the game, Jonathon Frost cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Eddy Alonzo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathon Frost got free with Eddy Alonzo in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Whitney Brady managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Bend's supporters rose to their feet, but Whitney Brady was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Devon Romo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Devon Romo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Whitney Brady's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Eddy Alonzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flint Sargent in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Whitney Brady in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Devon Romo saved Metropolis AFC from getting behind. Devon Romo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roderick Duran, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Whitney Brady had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Whitney Brady might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Devon Romo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Whitney Brady ran back to his position shaking his head. Eddy Alonzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flint Sargent in the 91st minute of play. If Roderick Duran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Great Bend had played much better football throughout.
