After a defensive mix-up in West Memphis's zone, Sherwood Oberle stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Val Dickerson came out of the goal and Sherwood Oberle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 8 minutes, Sanford Gunter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pocola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sanford Gunter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Sherwood Oberle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Val Dickerson was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Val Dickerson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andreas Thacker in the 16th minute of the match. Alan Rich's late challenge caught a Pocola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Rich helped the player get up and apologised. After 19 played minutes West Memphis got a freekick which was hit by Alan Rich. Willy Hensley charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willy Hensley the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Willy Hensley hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Pocola's Andreas Thacker in 27 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Val Dickerson guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The supporters of Pocola booed when West Memphis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duane Pineda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sherwood Oberle scored 0-1 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Val Dickerson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Val Dickerson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sherwood Oberle went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Sherwood Oberle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 46th play minutes Andreas Thacker shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Val Dickerson and just under the crossbar into goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. D.J. Burns was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of West Memphis booed when Pocola was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Hensley didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Andreas Thacker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sherwood Oberle got free with Val Dickerson in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sherwood Oberle's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Val Dickerson firmly grabbed it by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andreas Thacker in the 62nd minute of play forced West Memphis's goalkeeper Val Dickerson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pablo Crowley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merlin Fritz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pablo Crowley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from D.J. Burns in the 68th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Andreas Thacker's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Val Dickerson was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sherwood Oberle got free with Val Dickerson in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andreas Thacker fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Val Dickerson having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Sherwood Oberle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pocola's supporters rose to their feet, but Sherwood Oberle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Val Dickerson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. West Memphis's Val Dickerson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Thacker in the 96th minute of play. When the match was over Pocola could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than West Memphis throughout the match.
