After a rather tough play, Fc Otelul Galati's Ionică Apostu got a free kick in the 9th minute. After having played for 10 minutes, Kyle Cox managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. England's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kyle Cox was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 13 minutes, Andrei Măgură mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc Otelul Galati and the England players grew even worse after the yellow card. Andrei Măgură hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. When England's Kyle Cox in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fc Otelul Galati's goalie prevented a goal. After 15 minutes, Mihnea Bouleanu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fc Otelul Galati and the England players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 16th minute Kyle Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Iacobeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Quinn Holmes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mihnea Bouleanu hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After 21 minutes Fc Otelul Galati's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Micah Macdonald who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Micah Macdonald almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Fc Otelul Galati's Nicodim Iacobeanu did a great save. Nicodim Iacobeanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyle Cox, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Khalid Kennedy made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Gorla Goretzka sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Semavi Tümerdem in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Khalid Kennedy prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Ion Ailincai fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fc Otelul Galati's protests and gave Ion Ailincai a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of England booed when Fc Otelul Galati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ion Ailincai didn't get a good kick on the ball. Micah Macdonald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Eddie Willis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the game, Basarab Chelbea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fc Otelul Galati's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave England the free kick. Basarab Chelbea hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. England's Micah Macdonald couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 47th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fc Otelul Galati. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kyle Cox was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Fc Otelul Galati's Basarab Chelbea got a free kick in the 51st minute. Kyle Cox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicodim Iacobeanu having to interfere. Nicodim Iacobeanu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Micah Macdonald in the 53rd minute. After 54 played minutes Fc Otelul Galati got a freekick which was hit by Mihnea Bouleanu. The crowd rose to their feet as England's Kyle Cox slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nicodim Iacobeanu. That made the score 0-1 after 55 minutes of play. In the 61st minute Kyle Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicodim Iacobeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Fc Otelul Galati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gorla Goretzka to maneuver through the defense. Kyle Cox sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute, Kyle Cox fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nicodim Iacobeanu, passed just outside the right post. Kyle Cox recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kyle Cox scored 1-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicodim Iacobeanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when England's Kyle Cox in the 83rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Nicodim Iacobeanu was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Fc Otelul Galati through an amazing save. Nicodim Iacobeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kyle Cox, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. England's Khalid Kennedy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bogdan Boerescu in the 96th minute of play. The England supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing England would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
