Seating: 1100, VIP seats: 50) Welsh's Gerard Walsh started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Djurgardens IF's Darin Yeats got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute, Matt Driscoll sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Djurgardens IF's DeAndre MacKenzie didn't even have to move. 8 minutes into the match, Djurgardens IF's goal looked a bit too open when Louis Grier came free, but DeAndre MacKenzie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Welsh booed when Djurgardens IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darin Yeats didn't get a good kick on the ball. Omurtag Savkov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 19 minutes into the match, Welsh's goalkeeper Clint Holbrook had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Greg Randle. In the 23rd minute Mohammad Fitzpatrick shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clint Holbrook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robbie Sorensen kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Djurgardens IF's Blair Branch sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Clint Holbrook narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Omurtag Savkov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Clint Holbrook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Welsh's Milo Russ got a free kick in the 35th minute. With a little luck, Welsh's Clint Holbrook got control of the ball when Darin Yeats tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Louis Grier fell near the penalty area in the 39th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Welsh's protests and gave Louis Grier a yellow card for diving instead. Louis Grier kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. If Omurtag Savkov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Omurtag Savkov to strike the kick off in the second half. Welsh's Clint Holbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omurtag Savkov in the 51st minute of play. Greg Randle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Clint Holbrook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ruben Alston in the 56th minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 58 minutes into the game, when Marlin Huddleston put in a rough tackle. After 57 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Welsh! In the 60th minute there was a penalty for Djurgardens IF. Mohammad Fitzpatrick stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Clint Holbrook. 2-0. Welsh's Clint Holbrook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omurtag Savkov in the 64th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Welsh's Rudolf Parrish dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Clint Holbrook didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Omurtag Savkov went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Omurtag Savkov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clint Holbrook showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Greg Randle, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Greg Randle in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clint Holbrook prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cary Davies came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Welsh fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cary Davies couldn't finish the play. After 90 played minutes Welsh got a freekick which was hit by Rudolf Parrish. Nicky Warner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Clint Holbrook took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Greg Randle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Welsh's Louis Grier got a free kick in the 98th minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Djurgardens IF had played much better football throughout.
