Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, River Ridge's goal looked a bit too open when Lloyd Aldridge came free, but Rico Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kasey Boone made an important save on a dangerous shot by Theron Barger in the 5th minute. Johnny Moran might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rico Rosa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Johnny Moran ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Lloyd Aldridge's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rico Rosa was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. After 16 played minutes River Ridge got a freekick which was hit by Eldon House. 20 minutes into the game, Lloyd Aldridge cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Rico Rosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 24th minute Lloyd Aldridge shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rico Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rico Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lloyd Aldridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of River Ridge booed when Stanton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lance Bledsoe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Eldon House came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the River Ridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eldon House couldn't finish the play. Rusty Beard hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. In the 44th match minute, River Ridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Theron Barger to maneuver through the defense. Rico Rosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lloyd Aldridge, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Theron Barger was the one to do the kick off. When Johnny Moran came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Stanton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnny Moran couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, River Ridge's Rico Rosa got control of the ball when Johnny Moran tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rico Rosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lloyd Aldridge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eldon House fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Boone having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Johnny Moran got free with Rico Rosa in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eldon House received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Kasey Boone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Theron Barger came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the River Ridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theron Barger couldn't finish the play. If Eldon House had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, Stanton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lance Bledsoe to maneuver through the defense. The River Ridge manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Stanton AFC to win.
