Bryon Wiley started the match with the kick off. Garrett Groves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bryon Wiley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garrett Groves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Porter McDonald in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Shively AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Bryon Wiley came free, but Garrett Groves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rupert Hurley's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Esteban Quinones skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 12 minutes into the game, one of Corning AFC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Shively AFC a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marc Bonilla, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Corning AFC's Esteban Quinones. 1-0. In the 33rd minute Genaro Luther shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Esteban Quinones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esteban Quinones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genaro Luther, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 43 minutes into the match, Shively AFC's Rupert Hurley sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteban Quinones narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Corning AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geoff Crowder to maneuver through the defense. After 47 played minutes, Shively AFC's Marc Bonilla shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Esteban Quinones came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Shively AFC reached it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Genaro Luther was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wiley Hedrick during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Hurley in the 56th minute of play forced Corning AFC's goalkeeper Esteban Quinones to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rupert Hurley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Esteban Quinones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Luther in the 61st minute of play. Genaro Luther fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteban Quinones having to interfere. Rupert Hurley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Wiley Hedrick was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Corning AFC's Wiley Hedrick got a free kick in the 76th minute. Porter McDonald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Garrett Groves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Esteban Quinones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Genaro Luther in the 84th minute of play. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Corning AFC's goalkeeper Esteban Quinones, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Esteban Quinones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Hurley in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Shively AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Corning AFC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
