A collision led to Brooklyn Stars getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Kirby Silva hit a great ball. When Parker Gee came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Gardnertown FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Parker Gee couldn't finish the play. With his leg Kasey Dietz managed to avoid a goal in the 27thth minute, when Gardnertown FC's Parker Gee fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 32nd match minute, Brooklyn Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcellus Ledford to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Marcellus Ledford managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brooklyn Stars's supporters rose to their feet, but Marcellus Ledford was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The Brooklyn Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The Gardnertown FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Brooklyn Stars were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bailey Mackey to make the kick off. After having played for 65 minutes, Carlo Youngblood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brooklyn Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlo Youngblood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gardnertown FC's goalkeeper Phil Pepper, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 72 minutes, Carlo Youngblood managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brooklyn Stars's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlo Youngblood was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
