Reyes Dickens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10th minute, Ben Willett got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 13 in the game by Ben Willett from a close distance when the talented Derrick Lucero managed to make a qualified save. Pine Island's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Garrett Muller got free with Derrick Lucero in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Derrick Lucero made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Garrett Muller sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 20 minutes, Reyes Dickens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pine Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reyes Dickens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brielle's Garrett Muller was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 21st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Reyes Dickens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pine Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reyes Dickens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ben Willett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Derrick Lucero having to interfere. Garrett Muller who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Derrick Lucero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pine Island's Reyes Dickens got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Reyes Dickens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Brielle getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Kermit Donovan hit a great ball. Bruce Walls took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 41st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Norman Sanders. Brielle's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Brielle's zone, Gregorio Gomez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norman Sanders came out of the goal and Gregorio Gomez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 played minutes Brielle got a freekick which was hit by Kraig Ochoa. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kraig Ochoa during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pine Island booed when Brielle was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kraig Ochoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Pine Island's Bruce Walls tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Gregorio Gomez made the kick off in the second half. Brielle's Garrett Muller got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Derrick Lucero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben Willett in the 55th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garrett Muller in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Derrick Lucero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Brielle's Norman Sanders proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Brielle from getting a goal against them. Norman Sanders took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregorio Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pine Island's Derrick Lucero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garrett Muller in the 68th minute of play. In the 69thth minute of the game Garrett Muller who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pine Island's Derrick Lucero was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Derrick Lucero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben Willett in the 70th minute of the match. A collision led to Pine Island getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Alistair Heath hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the match, Pine Island's goal looked a bit too open when Garrett Muller came free, but Derrick Lucero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reyes Dickens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Norman Sanders made a huge save. Garrett Muller received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Derrick Lucero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ben Willett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reyes Dickens who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Norman Sanders when he managed to save the team from getting behind. A beautiful save bye Brielle's goalie prevented a goal. Pine Island's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
