Jeremy Trotter hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Saugerties South's goalkeeper Brock Dickinson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rich Karros. Hilton's Jerry McDaniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lonnie Chaney in the 26th minute of play. Rich Karros succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 30th playminute. In the 44th minute, Preston Johns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Hilton players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Saugerties South were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Derek Dyer was the one to do the kick off. Jerry McDaniel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dale Busch in the 66th minute. If Dale Busch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Derek Dyer kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 92 in the game by Dale Busch from a close distance when the talented Jerry McDaniel managed to make a qualified save. Hilton's players were relieved. When the match was over Saugerties South could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hilton throughout the match.
