When the match clock showed 8 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rob Youngblood sped through A.C Atlantic Highlands's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cedric Rader. A.C Atlantic Highlands's Cedric Rader played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rob Youngblood in the 13th minute of play. Cedric Rader made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rob Youngblood in the 16th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Rob Youngblood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cedric Rader was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. Cedric Rader showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rob Youngblood, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The audience was convinced that Rob Youngblood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cedric Rader was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. After 45 minutes of play, Mellow FC's Rod Cantrell made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cedric Rader was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Mellow FC were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rob Youngblood was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Rod Cantrell fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After some careless play in the A.C Atlantic Highlands defense, Rob Youngblood kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cedric Rader. The A.C Atlantic Highlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cedric Rader should have stopped the shot. In the 55thth minute of the game Rod Cantrell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.C Atlantic Highlands's Cedric Rader was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cedric Rader took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Cantrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the A.C Atlantic Highlands defense, Rob Youngblood kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cedric Rader. The A.C Atlantic Highlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cedric Rader should have stopped the shot. Cedric Rader was a little too slow when Rob Youngblood got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 0-7. In the 79th match minute, Mellow FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bob Benoit to maneuver through the defense. When Stephen Duffy fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.C Atlantic Highlands's protests and gave Stephen Duffy a yellow card for diving instead. After 80 played minutes A.C Atlantic Highlands got a freekick which was hit by Stephen Duffy. Anson Murphy received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Cedric Rader came out and tried to block the shot, but Anson Murphy slotted it home off the left post making it 0-8 in the 82nd minute. A.C Atlantic Highlands's Cedric Rader proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save A.C Atlantic Highlands from getting a goal against them. Cedric Rader made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Rob Youngblood sent off a good shot on target. Mellow FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
