Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Curt Rector took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zachariah Hong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Calvin Dodson might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Curt Rector. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Calvin Dodson ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the match, ZKP Chicago's George Blair sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Felix Cao Xiao narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Walter Velazquez scored 1-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felix Cao Xiao, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Curt Rector made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zachariah Hong in the 29th minute of play. George Blair succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Willis Mayer charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willis Mayer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Zachariah Hong made the kick off in the second half. George Blair took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Felix Cao Xiao. Felix Cao Xiao dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Zachariah Hong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Felix Cao Xiao showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Blair in the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ZKP Chicago's zone, Zachariah Hong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Curt Rector came out of the goal and Zachariah Hong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the game, Derby's Calvin Dodson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Curt Rector made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Walter Velazquez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Felix Cao Xiao read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. George Blair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Lawrence Kendrick fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Derby's protests and gave Lawrence Kendrick a yellow card for diving instead. In the 82nd match minute, Derby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lawrence Kendrick to maneuver through the defense.
