Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Von Rainey made the kick off which started today's match. Chuck Kilgore kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Shawn Fletcher got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Von Rainey spun around in front of the goal 9 minutes in the game and got away a good shot, but Allan Marquez grabbed the ball before it went up in top right corner. After a rather tough play, Welch's Scotty Bowden got a free kick in the 13th minute. After a rather tough play, Sweetwater AFC's Gregg Poe got a free kick in the 15th minute. After having played for 16 minutes, Von Rainey managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welch's supporters crossed their fingers, but Von Rainey was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, DeAndre Horn made a precise shot to the right of Scott Harper. Welch's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Welch's Scott Harper played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by DeAndre Horn in the 23rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sweetwater AFC's zone, Shawn Fletcher stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Allan Marquez came out of the goal and Shawn Fletcher tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 34th match minute, Sweetwater AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saul De La Cruz to maneuver through the defense. Lucien Flynn might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Scott Harper. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucien Flynn ran back to his position shaking his head. DeAndre Horn blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Scott Harper having to make a save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when DeAndre Horn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Von Rainey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Von Rainey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Allan Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Sweetwater AFC got a freekick which was hit by Gregg Poe. In the 64th minute Morgan Dobbins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Allan Marquez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Marquez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Von Rainey's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. Von Rainey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Allan Marquez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Welch's zone, Lucien Flynn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Harper came out of the goal and Lucien Flynn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 76th minute, Scotty Bowden hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Shawn Fletcher received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Allan Marquez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute of the match Gregg Poe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Scott Harper skillfully saved the ball. In the 88th minute, Sweetwater AFC's DeAndre Horn ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Scott Harper. Scott Harper yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. When Kirk Ward came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Welch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kirk Ward couldn't finish the play. Lucien Flynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Harper having to interfere. The Welch supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sweetwater AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sweetwater AFC.
