The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Battle in the 4th minute of play forced Southmont's goalkeeper Enrique Chandler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Tobias Battle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Chandler was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. If Tobias Battle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Southmont got a freekick which was hit by Marlon Blevins. Enrique Chandler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobias Battle in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tobias Battle in the 36th minute of play forced Southmont's goalkeeper Enrique Chandler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Freddie Annan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the match, Tobias Battle had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Enrique Chandler. Southmont's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tobias Battle was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 44th minute Tobias Battle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Chandler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Battle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Southmont players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Marengo FC were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Murray Call to make the kick off. In the 57th minute Tobias Battle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Chandler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tobias Battle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Enrique Chandler came out and tried to block the shot, but Tobias Battle slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 58th minute. In the 63rd minute, Tobias Battle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Southmont's zone, Freddie Annan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enrique Chandler came out of the goal and Freddie Annan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donovan Dillard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murray Call, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Southmont's goal looked a bit too open when Tobias Battle came free, but Enrique Chandler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jamel Rice kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. After having played for 93 minutes, Freddie Annan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marengo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddie Annan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Freddie Annan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle sounded Marengo FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Southmont.
