Colby Weldon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradley McLain having to interfere. Lawrence Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brandon Hammond in the 8th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Nephi AFC's zone, Andre Conroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradley McLain came out of the goal and Andre Conroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Nephi AFC's Bradley McLain got control of the ball when Andre Conroy tried to sneak it across the goal line. Archie White fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradley McLain having to interfere. In the 15thth minute of the game Kerry Marino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Dallas's Lawrence Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 16 played minutes FC Dallas got a freekick which was hit by Colby Weldon. Lawrence Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brandon Hammond, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute, Kerry Marino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Kerry Marino came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Nephi AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kerry Marino couldn't finish the play. Bradley McLain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Archie White in the 25th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Nephi AFC's goalkeeper Bradley McLain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Andre Conroy. Bradley McLain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Archie White in the 37th minute of the match. Kerry Marino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute Brandon Hammond shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, FC Dallas's King Weir got a free kick in the 41st minute. Claudio Walsh kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. FC Dallas's Lawrence Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ron Cassidy in the 45th minute of play. After having played for 48 minutes, Kerry Marino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nephi AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kerry Marino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Brandon Hammond to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 63 minutes, Kerry Marino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nephi AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kerry Marino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Nephi AFC's Lee Mendoza got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Bradley McLain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andre Conroy in the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st minute, Colby Weldon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When King Weir fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Dallas's protests and gave King Weir a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to FC Dallas getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. King Weir hit a great ball. When Nephi AFC's Brandon Hammond, in the 84th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Nephi AFC. After a defensive mix-up in FC Dallas's zone, Brandon Hammond stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lawrence Valle came out of the goal and Brandon Hammond tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brandon Hammond fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lawrence Valle having to interfere. If Kerry Marino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Archie White might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bradley McLain. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Archie White ran back to his position shaking his head. FC Dallas were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Nephi AFC for a fine match.
