Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Andrew Crabtree started the match with the kick off. Ball FC's Homer Small played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Fletcher in the 5th minute of play. Vincenzo Parra struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Steve Baron didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ball FC. In the 8th match minute, Ball FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Zeigler to maneuver through the defense. Steve Baron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Crabtree in the 9th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jacob Heath during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 played minutes Ball FC got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Heath. Homer Small was a little too slow when Kurt Richardson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 19th minute. The score was now 1-1. Kurt Richardson charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kurt Richardson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alan Fletcher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Fletcher in the 27th minute of play forced Ball FC's goalkeeper Homer Small to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ball FC's Barry Zeigler got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Conley struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Homer Small made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt Richardson in the 38th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mayodan's Donnie Rogers got a free kick in the 38th minute. The audience was convinced that Vincenzo Parra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steve Baron was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vincenzo Parra in the 43rd minute of play forced Mayodan's goalkeeper Steve Baron to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Andrew Crabtree managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ball FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrew Crabtree was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve Baron breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barry Zeigler in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steve Baron saved Mayodan from getting behind. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Jacob Heath received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Steve Baron tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Steve Baron managed to avoid a goal in the 53rdth minute, when Ball FC's Jacob Heath fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 53 played minutes Mayodan got a freekick which was hit by Osvaldo Cash. Jacob Heath hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Homer Small showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benito Conley, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Steve Baron showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Zeigler, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Alan Fletcher scored 2-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Homer Small, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. During the 76th minute of the match Kurt Richardson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Kurt Richardson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 77 played minutes Mayodan got a freekick which was hit by Kurt Richardson. After a rather tough play, Mayodan's Benito Conley got a free kick in the 81st minute. The audience was convinced that Andrew Crabtree's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Steve Baron was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. 86 minutes into the game, Alan Fletcher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mayodan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ball FC the free kick. The supporters of Ball FC booed when Mayodan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Fletcher didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, Ball FC's Andrew Crabtree sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Baron narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 91 played minutes Ball FC got a freekick which was hit by Rod Hickey. Barry Zeigler recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vincenzo Parra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 96thth minute tested the skills of Steve Baron when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ball FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
