Everett Wray might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boyd Keen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Boyd Keen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Zeigler, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andrew Crabtree made a kick off. Duke Urbina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyd Keen having to interfere. 56 minutes into the game, El Cajon FC's Salvador Guzman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Homer Small made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 66th minute, Ball FC's Andrew Crabtree ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Boyd Keen. Boyd Keen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. When Everett Wray fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ball FC's protests and gave Everett Wray a yellow card for diving instead. In the 70th minute, Everett Wray hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Barry Zeigler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Barry Zeigler's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Boyd Keen was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. El Cajon FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Andrew Crabtree 78 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-5. After a defensive mix-up in El Cajon FC's zone, Andrew Crabtree stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyd Keen came out of the goal and Andrew Crabtree tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90th minute Andrew Crabtree shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boyd Keen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Andrew Crabtree cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Boyd Keen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Ball FC's Barry Zeigler in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye El Cajon FC's goalie prevented a goal. When the final whistle sounded Ball FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than El Cajon FC.
