Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Gustavo Avila fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donnie Hughes having to interfere. In the 8th minute Junior Shannon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sheldon Triplett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Larry Tyson got free with Donnie Hughes in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Larry Tyson in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donnie Hughes saved Malabar AFC from getting behind. After 12 played minutes Malabar AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Atkins. 16 minutes into the game, Marrero AFC's Gustavo Avila nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donnie Hughes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Earl McCord's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 19thth minute, Donnie Hughes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Malabar AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Ken Ennis hit a great ball. Gustavo Avila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Earl McCord scored 2-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Donnie Hughes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marrero AFC's Gustavo Avila got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Avila in the 40th minute of play forced Malabar AFC's goalkeeper Donnie Hughes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gustavo Avila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Donnie Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Marrero AFC's Gustavo Avila slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Donnie Hughes. That made the score 3-0 after 47 minutes of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gustavo Avila to make the kick off. Palmer Pena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donnie Hughes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustavo Avila in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of Marrero AFC booed when Malabar AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Atkins didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Atkins kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Donnie Hughes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Earl McCord, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes Malabar AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dwight Pennington. Earl McCord recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Gustavo Avila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Avila sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Junior Shannon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Sheldon Triplett made a huge save. After 86 minutes, Ernesto Atkins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malabar AFC and the Marrero AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Malabar AFC's Ernesto Atkins got a free kick in the 86th minute. Vicente Souza, 87 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gustavo Avila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Donnie Hughes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gustavo Avila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marrero AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
