After a rather tough play, Gainesville's Garrett Belanger got a free kick in the 8th minute. Homer Weeks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clinton Russo having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Gainesville's Trenton Todd sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ned Crabtree narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fauve FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Merrill McGee in the 16th minute. The corner led to Fauve FC's Homer Weeks getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Stewart Bond struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Clinton Russo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fauve FC. Homer Weeks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clinton Russo having to interfere. Trenton Todd received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Ned Crabtree tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Todd Chester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cary Atwood during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Homer Weeks to strike the kick off in the second half. Fauve FC's Ned Crabtree proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Fauve FC from getting a goal against them. Ned Crabtree showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Trenton Todd in the 54th minute of the match. If Todd Chester had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Todd Chester's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ned Crabtree read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Todd Chester fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ned Crabtree having to interfere. If Trenton Todd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gainesville's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
