Freeburg's Jasper Dietz got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Dudley Greenberg took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Tracy Massey to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Chalco's zone, Jasper Dietz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Hyatt came out of the goal and Jasper Dietz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo Hyatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilfred Uster in the 90th minute of the match. Dudley Greenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Tracy Massey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
