Leonardo Eaton took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Logan Fletcher. Logan Fletcher dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 22nd minute, Travis Beck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Lake in the Hills AFC's Cole Kimball threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gerald Key, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Travis Beck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crafton's Cole Kimball played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Travis Beck in the 28th minute of play. Travis Becks short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Cole Kimball to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee ignored Lake in the Hills AFC's protests and gave Russ Burke a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Crafton's Ricky Zeigler tried to score from far away in the 45th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerald Key was the one to do the kick off. When Riley McKnight fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lake in the Hills AFC's protests and gave Riley McKnight a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th minute, Del Buddle fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 57 minutes into the match, Cole Pearson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Logan Fletcher, 0-3. In the 65th minute, Crafton's Cole Pearson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Logan Fletcher. Logan Fletcher yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. After some careless play in the Lake in the Hills AFC defense, Del Buddle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Logan Fletcher. The Lake in the Hills AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Logan Fletcher should have stopped the shot. After having played for 89 minutes, Gerald Key managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lake in the Hills AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerald Key was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cole Pearson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 94 minutes, Del Buddle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crafton and the Lake in the Hills AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The Crafton supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Crafton would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
