The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 11 minutes of play, Highland City AFC's Victor Sherwood made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jerome Darnell was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 14 played minutes Highland City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Tyler Goff. Highland City AFC's Renato Owen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Newell in the 16th minute of play. Kurt Singh's late challenge caught a Highland City AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kurt Singh helped the player get up and apologised. Braidwood AFC's Kurt Singh got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Victor Sherwood might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerome Darnell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Sherwood ran back to his position shaking his head. Tyson Flynn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Braidwood AFC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jamel Ragland hit a great ball. If Tyson Flynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jerome Darnell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Sherwood, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. The audience was convinced that Victor Sherwood's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jerome Darnell was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. Tyson Flynn struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Jerome Darnell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Highland City AFC.

Kurt Singh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Renato Owen having to interfere. 59 minutes into the match, Robert Newell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renato Owen. Highland City AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robert Newell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Jerome Darnell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Sherwood in the 64th minute of the match. Tyson Flynn in the 67thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jerome Darnell, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Braidwood AFC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Guillermo Sanderson hit a great ball. Tyson Flynn's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jerome Darnell firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tyson Flynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 76th minute, Kurt Singh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jamel Ragland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Braidwood AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 87th minute. Penalty! In the 89th minute, the referee gave Highland City AFC a penalty. Jose Pepper looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Jerome Darnell. The supporters of Highland City AFC booed when Braidwood AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Watson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
