After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Kenny Swan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Archie Blankenship came out of the goal and Kenny Swan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Archie Blankenship took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kenny Swan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Wickenburg's zone, Benny Vargas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. William Zapata came out of the goal and Benny Vargas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benny Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. William Zapata made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benny Vargas in the 16th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 20 minutes, William Zapata successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 21st minute Benny Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but William Zapata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Archie Blankenship came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Wickenburg's Byron Farley. But to his dismay, Byron Farley quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Wickenburg getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Emilio Bullock hit a great ball. In the 31st match minute, Wickenburg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Tackett to maneuver through the defense. River Plate's Loren Christie couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Wickenburg.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rick Lim made a kick off. After 61 played minutes River Plate got a freekick which was hit by Loren Christie. Archie Blankenship made an important save on a dangerous shot by Logan Kauffman in the 62nd minute. William Zapata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benny Vargas in the 69th minute of the match. Benny Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kenny Swan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Archie Blankenship tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute, River Plate's Blake Pryor seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Blake Pryor the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of River Plate protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Blake Pryor had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for River Plate! In the 83rd minute there was a penalty for Wickenburg. Logan Kauffman stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Archie Blankenship. 0-2. Archie Blankenship was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kenny Swan showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 88 minute of play. In the 97thth minute of the game Byron Farley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Archie Blankenship was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Wickenburg walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
