The supporters of Carmi AFC booed when Northampton FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Earl Payne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pierre Cunningham didn't quite understand what happened when in the 49 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The Northampton FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Carmi AFC to win.
