Glen Belanger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephan Flint in the 31st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ward Rivera in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Glen Belanger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gerald Beam might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Maxwell Hopkins. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gerald Beam ran back to his position shaking his head. With an all-out effort, Ridley's Maxwell Hopkins threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Timothy Thurston, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, New Martinsville's Woodrow Warren got a free kick in the 46th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stephan Flint stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Maxwell Hopkins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Timothy Thurston, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. New Martinsville's Stephan Flint got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to New Martinsville getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Enoch Peachey hit a great ball. The supporters of New Martinsville booed when Ridley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Shipp didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Stephan Flint managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Martinsville's supporters rose to their feet, but Stephan Flint was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Glen Belanger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Glen Belanger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anton Sherman went, in the 71st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Anton Sherman managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Martinsville's supporters rose to their feet, but Anton Sherman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Glen Belanger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 81st minute Stephan Flint shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glen Belanger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stephan Flint recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute, Stephan Flint got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thomas Gann kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anton Sherman got free with Glen Belanger in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over New Martinsville could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ridley throughout the match.
