When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Brent Carson made a kick off. Timothy Villanueva charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Timothy Villanueva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Lyman getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. The supporters of Lyman booed when Ladysmith AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rex Fritz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Lyman's zone, Garret Petersen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kirk Diggs came out of the goal and Garret Petersen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ed Mitchell came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Lyman's Brent Carson. But to his dismay, Brent Carson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 70 minutes into the match, Ladysmith AFC's Rex Fritz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kirk Diggs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, Ladysmith AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Brent Carson came free, but Ed Mitchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lyman's Brent Carson got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rex Fritz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Timothy Guerrero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ed Mitchell having to interfere. If Garret Petersen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Rex Fritz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ladysmith AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. When Garret Petersen came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ladysmith AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Garret Petersen couldn't finish the play.
