Otto Jones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavio Benavides in the 27th minute of play. Ulysses Whitman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darnell Chapman having to interfere. Octavio Benavides received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Otto Jones tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ulysses Whitman was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 37th minute. Chelsea FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ulysses Whitman made a kick off. Garnett AFC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 56th match minute, Chelsea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Son Washburn to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Ross Roland reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Otto Jones. The goal made the score 0-2. Lonnie Ambriz kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Chelsea FC's Ulysses Whitman got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd minute, Jared Chase got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Garnett AFC's Reed Jennings suffered a sore thigh after 76 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rick Chambers during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th match minute, Chelsea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rick Chambers to maneuver through the defense.
