Spectators: 6709 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Darin Whitaker made the kick off which started today's match. 5 minutes into the game, Manasquan's Ethan Duffy nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jasper Acosta made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpected shot in the 8th minute by Luciano Cordova got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eddy Pruett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jasper Acosta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Louie Jameson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darin Whitaker in the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to Grosse Pointe Woods getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Darin Whitaker hit a great ball. When Kirby Marsh fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Grosse Pointe Woods's protests and gave Kirby Marsh a yellow card for diving instead. In the 26th match minute, Grosse Pointe Woods was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kirby Marsh to maneuver through the defense. Flint Aragon, 27 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ethan Duffy in the 30th minute of play forced Grosse Pointe Woods's goalkeeper Jasper Acosta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Manasquan booed when Grosse Pointe Woods was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bart Beck didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Eddy Pruett notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Grosse Pointe Woods's Jasper Acosta. Jasper Acosta was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eddy Pruett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jasper Acosta having to interfere. Rusty Ibarra kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Manasquan's goal looked a bit too open when Darin Whitaker came free, but Louie Jameson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44thth minute of the game Ethan Duffy who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grosse Pointe Woods's Jasper Acosta was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 46 played minutes Grosse Pointe Woods got a freekick which was hit by Kirby Marsh. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Damon Cerna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jasper Acosta made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Eddy Pruett sent off a good shot on target. Eddy Pruett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Jasper Acosta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eddy Pruett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ethan Duffy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jasper Acosta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ethan Duffy in the 70th minute of play. Darin Whitaker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Louie Jameson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darin Whitaker in the 76th minute of play forced Manasquan's goalkeeper Louie Jameson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manasquan's Louie Jameson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Cordova in the 79th minute of play. Ethan Duffy was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 83rd minute. Manasquan's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 87 minutes into the match, Grosse Pointe Woods's goalkeeper Jasper Acosta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eddy Pruett. If Ethan Duffy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Louie Jameson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darin Whitaker, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 95th minute, Luciano Cordova left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grosse Pointe Woods fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When the final whistle sounded Manasquan left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Grosse Pointe Woods.
