Denver Barton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Charlton Hollandsworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Raul Velez in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Denver Barton, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, DAWGS's Richie Givens got a free kick in the 15th minute. Gamewell's Raul Velez got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raul Velez scored 1-1 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Denver Barton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Charlton Hollandsworth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Denver Barton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gamewell's Charlton Hollandsworth in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye DAWGS's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in DAWGS's zone, Charlton Hollandsworth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denver Barton came out of the goal and Charlton Hollandsworth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

If Marshall Redding had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 61 minutes into the match, Gamewell's goal looked a bit too open when Edmund Bartlett came free, but Oscar Cullen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Errol Dye came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the DAWGS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Errol Dye couldn't finish the play. Denver Barton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Velez, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Edmund Bartlett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmund Bartletts short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Oscar Cullen to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Edmund Bartlett managed to get in a good position for a shot. DAWGS's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmund Bartlett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oscar Cullen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gamewell's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
