If Tracey Goodson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes, Claudio Saenz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vandenberg Village and the Cheat Lake AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 21 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vandenberg Village's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Everett Manley was slow to take the kick. During this time Cheat Lake AFC's players had a chance to rest. Carlos Karros kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. 23 minutes into the match, Cheat Lake AFC's Everett Manley broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Teodoro Jameson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugh Burrell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. Heriberto Miller's late challenge caught a Vandenberg Village's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Heriberto Miller helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cheat Lake AFC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Heriberto Miller hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, Vandenberg Village's Carlos Karros broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Hugh Burrell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teodoro Jameson in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Vandenberg Village was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milo Savage to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrew Davies in the 36th minute of play forced Cheat Lake AFC's goalkeeper Warner Summers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Page hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teodoro Jameson made a kick off. Teodoro Jameson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 54 played minutes Cheat Lake AFC got a freekick which was hit by Heriberto Miller. The audience was convinced that Andrew Davies's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Warner Summers was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. When Vandenberg Village's Houston Horner in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. An unexpected shot in the 90th minute by Tracey Goodson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Teodoro Jameson struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Hugh Burrell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cheat Lake AFC. When Teodoro Jameson came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Cheat Lake AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodoro Jameson couldn't finish the play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
