When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Cliff Dykes put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Alonso Purcell. Cole Pierre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Josiah Ritter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Golden Hills AFC's Josiah Ritter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bronson Small in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Graig Pruett was the one to do the kick off. When %teams%'s Graig Pruett was free in front of goal, he didn't hesitate to shoot 1-3 just inside the left pole, 52 minutes into the game. Alonso Purcell was annoyed at himself for letting in the shot. 59 minutes into the game, Worthington's Cole Pierre nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Graig Pruett received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alonso Purcell came out and tried to block the shot, but Graig Pruett slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 69th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Cole Pierre had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Josiah Ritter. Golden Hills AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cole Pierre was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. In the 84th minute, Cliff Dykes made a precise shot to the right of Alonso Purcell. Worthington's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-5. Alonso Purcell made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cliff Dykes in the 89th minute. Hayden Leon's late challenge caught a Golden Hills AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hayden Leon helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, Worthington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hayden Leon to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Golden Hills AFC's Reed Beatty tried to score from far away in the 91st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 93rd minute Graig Pruett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alonso Purcell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Golden Hills AFC's zone, Cole Pierre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josiah Ritter came out of the goal and Cole Pierre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
