Stephen Lucero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephen Lucero could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Genaro Delong made a huge save. If Troy Cates had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Doug Overton hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, one of azulao:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for azulao. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for East Detroit FC. Nathan Dodd stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Genaro Delong. 1-0. Genaro Delong was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Stephen Lucero showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 24 minute of play. East Detroit FC's Stephen Lucero came free and shot a quick shot against goal 31 minutes in the game, fortunately Genaro Delong had problems saving as it came toward the left post. 32 minutes into the game, Stephen Lucero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Genaro Delong was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Genaro Delong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Len Baron in the 43rd minute of play. Stephen Lucero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Len Baron made a kick off. Alistair Calloway made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dean Reyes in the 51st minute of play. If Stephen Lucero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlo Eddy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephen Lucero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Genaro Delong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th minute Stephen Lucero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Genaro Delong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When East Detroit FC's Len Baron in 73 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Genaro Delong guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Genaro Delong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Len Baron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stephen Lucero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Genaro Delong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Len Baron managed to get in a good position for a shot. East Detroit FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Len Baron was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Genaro Delong breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Len Baron in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genaro Delong prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Len Baron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that East Detroit FC were the better team. East Detroit FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
