Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Leon Nash took the kick off in the first half of the match. Greg Hunter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leon Nash in the 3rd minute of play. With his leg Parker Landrum managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Puerto Rico United's Garth Hanson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With 10 minutes on the clock, Reed Ortega commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 10th minute of the game. One of Fredericksburg AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Puerto Rico United:s goal. When the match had been going on for 11 minutes, Puerto Rico United's Garth Hanson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Parker Landrum. Garth Hanson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dylan Braun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Greg Hunter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Denis Hollandsworth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Puerto Rico United and the Fredericksburg AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 22 played minutes Puerto Rico United got a freekick which was hit by Denis Hollandsworth. Garth Hanson in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Parker Landrum, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Al Billings in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Parker Landrum prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Parker Landrum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Al Billings in the 34th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Garth Hanson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Parker Landrum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Fredericksburg AFC booed when Puerto Rico United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Richardson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Garth Hanson in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Parker Landrum prevented the ball from getting in the gole. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Garth Hanson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Garth Hanson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Parker Landrum was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 56th minute, Al Billings left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Puerto Rico United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. In the 59th minute, Sydney Parker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garth Hanson in the 64th minute of play forced Fredericksburg AFC's goalkeeper Parker Landrum to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute Al Billings shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Parker Landrum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mark Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greg Hunter having to interfere. Greg Hunter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Douglass Grayson in the 74th minute of the match. The Puerto Rico United fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Puerto Rico United's Chuck Abel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Garth Hanson put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Parker Landrum. Parker Landrum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Garth Hanson in the 83rd minute of play. When Puerto Rico United's Chuck Abel in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Fredericksburg AFC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 85th minute Garth Hanson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Parker Landrum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garth Hanson struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Parker Landrum didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Puerto Rico United. Fredericksburg AFC's Parker Landrum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Garth Hanson in the 96th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Puerto Rico United had played much better football throughout.
