Seating: 1709, VIP seats: 0) Pomeroy AFC's Chase Kessler started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes New Roads got a freekick which was hit by Teodoro Hinkle. The crowd rose to their feet as Dexter McCarthy kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Riley Stephenson. That made the score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. Jeffrey Hays made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chase Kessler in the 17th minute of play. The supporters of New Roads booed when Pomeroy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chase Kessler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Franklin Smalls's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Riley Stephenson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of New Roads booed when Pomeroy AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Len Denson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 27 minutes, Franklin Smalls managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Roads's supporters crossed their fingers, but Franklin Smalls was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, New Roads's Dexter McCarthy sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Riley Stephenson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Franklin Smalls came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the New Roads fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Smalls couldn't finish the play. Dexter McCarthy's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Riley Stephenson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurtis Brewster in the 37th minute of play forced New Roads's goalkeeper Jeffrey Hays to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Chase Kessler managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pomeroy AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chase Kessler was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeffrey Hays breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jeffrey Hays showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chase Kessler, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute.
The wind increased when Dexter McCarthy made the kick off in the second half. When Franklin Smalls came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the New Roads fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Franklin Smalls couldn't finish the play. Riley Stephenson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franklin Smalls, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Kurtis Brewster hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Franklin Smalls received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Riley Stephenson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Len Denson kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Chase Kessler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute, Benito Zeigler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pomeroy AFC's goalkeeper Riley Stephenson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jeffrey Hays stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Chase Kessler's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, Willie Santiago ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jeffrey Hays was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Riley Stephenson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dexter McCarthy in the 83rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Pomeroy AFC's Ken Carrillo got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Riley Stephenson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dexter McCarthy went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. New Roads's Jeffrey Hays played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chase Kessler in the 90th minute of play. Dexter McCarthy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Riley Stephenson having to interfere. Franklin Smalls struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Riley Stephenson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Roads.
