An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerald Lyons in the 11th minute of play forced New Roads's goalkeeper Jeffrey Hays to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gerald Lyons came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Cold Crushers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerald Lyons couldn't finish the play. New Roads's Jeffrey Hays played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerald Lyons in the 25th minute of play. When Don Patel fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cold Crushers FC's protests and gave Don Patel a yellow card for diving instead. 27 minutes into the game, Dexter McCarthy cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Roger Morton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roger Morton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franklin Smalls in the 31st minute of play. New Roads's Jeffrey Hays proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save New Roads from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 44 minutes, Jeffrey Hays successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gerald Lyons made the kick off in the second half. Gerald Lyons scored 1-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeffrey Hays, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Franklin Smalls had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Gerald Lyons put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jeffrey Hays.
