Rich Aguirre took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basil Wetzel. Basil Wetzel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Ignacio Guidry hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Rich Aguirre scored 1-3 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Basil Wetzel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th minute, Ignacio Guidry hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Basil Wetzel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Carlson, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rich Aguirre in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Basil Wetzel saved Racing Club from getting behind. Basil Wetzel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edgardo Carlson went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Stanton James managed to get in a good position for a shot. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanton James was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Thomason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 58 minutes, Stanton James managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Racing Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stanton James was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Lake Crystal FC's zone, Stanton James stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brian Thomason came out of the goal and Stanton James tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the match, Edgardo Carlson notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Racing Club's Basil Wetzel. Basil Wetzel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stanton James sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Racing Club's Basil Wetzel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rich Aguirre in the 72nd minute of play. Stanton James's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brian Thomason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgardo Carlson got free with Basil Wetzel in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Edgardo Carlson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Basil Wetzel made a huge save. Racing Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Stanton James was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The supporters of Racing Club booed when Lake Crystal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felipe Crosby didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute Rich Aguirre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Basil Wetzel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Basil Wetzel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tracey Atkinson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stanton James received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Brian Thomason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lake Crystal FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
