The supporters of Bermuda Dunes FC booed when Laymantown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Gilliam didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Stacy Ayers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chad Battle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jim Winter, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 18 minutes into the game, Antonio Castle was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Laymantown's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bermuda Dunes FC the free kick. A collision led to Laymantown getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Antonio Castle hit a great ball. When Stacy Ayers came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Bermuda Dunes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stacy Ayers couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rickey Milligan in the 22nd minute of play forced Bermuda Dunes FC's goalkeeper Stephan McDaniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bermuda Dunes FC's zone, Rickey Milligan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stephan McDaniel came out of the goal and Rickey Milligan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Laymantown's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Winter came free, but Chad Battle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rickey Milligan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Shaun Hayden got free with Stephan McDaniel in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bermuda Dunes FC's Stephan McDaniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rickey Milligan in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute Jim Winter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chad Battle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Jim Winter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bermuda Dunes FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Winter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chad Battle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 52 played minutes Laymantown got a freekick which was hit by Carl Downing. Jim Winter received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Chad Battle stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jim Winter's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Laymantown's goal looked a bit too open when Jim Winter came free, but Chad Battle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 played minutes Bermuda Dunes FC got a freekick which was hit by Stanley Welch. A collision led to Laymantown getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Rocky Pool hit a great ball. Shaun Hayden scored 1-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Stephan McDaniel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bermuda Dunes FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
