Harry Crane came out of the goal and Willis Dozier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 5th minute, Domenico Wolf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the match, Forked River FC's goal looked a bit too open when Willis Dozier came free, but Harry Crane reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Matt Meredith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marlin Barker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tristan Davis in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the game, Rocky Cardona was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Forked River FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wolf Lake the free kick. Harry Crane showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willis Dozier, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute of the match Antonio Talbot shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Harry Crane showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 47 minutes into the game, Benny Britton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wolf Lake's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Forked River FC the free kick. A collision led to Wolf Lake getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Benny Britton hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
